Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman Goes Couture

Ever since the first trailer came out, the world (specially the Internet world) was in a hype over the next, and final, movie in the Batman series. But not only does The Dark Knight Rises bring us more super-hero quality-cinema with the addition of Robin, it brings us the sexiest leatherist villain, Catwoman. Portrayed by no one less than the sexy, lovely and just dowright gorgeous Anne Hathaway.

And as Dark Knight hits the theaters, we thought we’d leave you with a little style inspiration, if you ever want to dress like Catwoman for a costume party, night in bed, or simply because you can. Check out some pics below, the style lessons we learn from them and the items/outfits that embody one of the sexiest outlaws in a long time. As with most of this blog’s female content, I count on my friend Angelina H to write the whole thing pitch in.

Catwoman without her catwoman costume. Lesson learned: black is the color, pearls are the jewels.

Here we have the villain behind wheels. Lessons learned: leather and futuristic shades.

Catwoman dances with Batman while in a black gown, mask and pearls. This is pretty much review class.

The Catwoman suit is all leather, a sexy mask and headbands.

Another look at the character.

Now, a brief recap of the lessons learned: black is the color, pearls are the jewels, shades only if futuristic or big and leather is of material interest. Now that we have it all clear, let’s jump ahead into a few Catwoman-inspired Couture looks.

Catwoman In The Summer

Top: Girl by Band Of Outsiders / Leather Vest: McQ Alexander McQueen / Shorts: Diane Von Furstenberg / Shoes: Jimmy Choo / Bag: Valentino / Hairclip: Valentino / Necklace: Lanvin / Belt: Gucci

A breezy look for the high temperatures right now, this mixes a simple, mini-length sexy leather suit (the combination of the leather vest over a layering white top with the leather shorts), some very high and very glossy heels and jewels that make a statement. The Valentino hairclip helps keep the look feminine and chic. The same goes for the amazing necklace with pearls and crystals, that’s really something more for evening wear, and that’s why it would look so great and unexpected in this outfit. The bag is small and leather, and since the acessories grab a lot of atention already, the belt is thin and obviously leather. Interestingly, it’s braided as to give the look a more summer feel and to have some casual contrast to the evening wear thing that’s going on with the necklace.

Catwoman Does Business Casual

Blazer: Balmain / Skirt: Rebecca Taylor / Top: Splendid / Shoes: Miu Miu / Bracelet: Prada / Handbag: Prada / Watch: Harry Winston

With less acessories and a less daring look, Catwoman hits the office. Because you know, Valentino isn’t free. The look would be a classic blazer/skirt combo, was the skirt not leather and was the collar in the blazer also not leather. On the list of things that are leather here we can add that giant Prada handbag (to carry a notebook and all the client files), the Miu Miu shoes (shorter for the work environment) and probably the band on that amazing Harry Winston watch. Throw in a black Prada stone bracelet and you just got your Catwoman Office day. Any classic one string pearl necklace will also do this look good.

Catwoman Gowns

From left to right: Lanvin, Karl, Narciso Rodriguez

Lastly, some feline inspired gowns and dresses for gala events. The Lanvin one is probably the most conservative one but is still downright beautiful and sexy. The Karl one is the favorite pick: it’s gorgeous, different, very very form-fitting, entirely sexy and oh-so daring. If Catwoman shopped at Karl, she’d buy this. And lastly, a dress that is not too long but is still formal and very interesting and sexy (notice the leather) from Narciso Rodriguez. Last time we checked they were all avalaible at Net-A-Porter.

This is it guys, or actually girls because this post is aimed at them (again, I don’t say) and thanks to Angelina H for writting this. Thanks for reading, too.

And while we’re on the subject of Batman, we’d like to offer our condolences to the families of the victims at the Colorado shooting. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. You can also help the families by making a donation or taking a stand, both of which will be very much appreciated.
